Dermal Skin Rolling

Consultation required-

Dermal Skin Rolling is a procedure that has been used for the last three or four
 years.
This stimulate new collagen growth, improve the skin texture and reduce the
appearance of scarring and fine to moderate lines.

What is Dermal Skin Rolling?
Dermal Skin Rolling is a procedure that uses rolling device – between 0.25mm and
2.0mm   in diameter, to pierce the skin and create tiny injuries deep in the skin.
These dermal injuries lead to new collagen formation via the normal skin repair
mechanisms. Skin Rolling also perforates and softens fibrous scar tissue
enabling the deposition of new collagen. The new collagen fills depressed scars
and wrinkles from the bottom up lifting the depression so they are level with the
surrounding skin. This process takes 2-3 months to produce visible results and can
also help thicken thin, crepey skin.

What can Dermal Rolling treat?
•    Acne Scarring
•    Lines and wrinkles
•    Sun-damaged skins
•    Thin, Crepey skin

Contra-indications  (Reasons why Dermal Rolling may not be suitable for
you)

•    Roaccutane use in the last 6 months
•    Dermatitis or infection in the area to be treated
•    Pregnancy
•    Keloid scars
•    Abnormal wound healing

How many sessions do I need and Cost?
Each skin responds differently and most skins will need multiple treatments at
8-12 week intervals, dependent on the initial condition being treated, and the
desired outcome. This time frame allows us to see the maximum new collagen
deposition and to assess the success of the treatment.
Please note:  A very small number of skins will have a minimal response to rolling.

Pricing depending on size of area- between $200 and $450 per area POA
Stretchmarks- stomach or thigh area $450 per session
Full face and neck for wrinkles and Acne scars $450
Other area's POA
Dermal Roller and after home care paid seperately

What does it feel like?
You may feel some pressure though you wont feel any pain due to the topical
anaesthetic that is applied prior to your procedure.

How does my skin look after the treatment? (This will vary according to
the size and strength of the area being treated)

•    Mild to moderate redness and sensitivity in the treated area lasting 12 to 48
 hours
•    Mild to moderate swelling and possible bruising for 2-3 days
•    Dry and tight skin
•    Tiny crusted areas occur all over that feel slightly rough and give a tanned
appearance
•    Varying amounts of flaking/peeling occur approximately 3 days after you
r treatment
•    Makeup is fine to use after 48hours, though just keeping the skin moist oft
en looks better and assists in faster peeling time
•    After the skin has shed it has a healthy glow, feels softer, smoother and is
more even in colour
•    It is important to protect the new skin from the sun by using a broad spectrum
SPF 30+ sunscreen daily

Potential complications
•    If the healing skin is incorrectly cared for it can prolong healing and possibly
 lead to infection or scarring
•    Possible herpes simplex outbreak if prone to cold sores
•    Hyperpigmentation (darker areas of pigment on the skin) lasting 1 to 12 months

Skin Preparation
Prior to having Dermal Rolling, we recommend that the skin is primed with active
ingredients for at least two weeks prior to the treatment. This is to maximise
treatment outcomes, assist in speeding the healing time and reduces the risk of
post peel complications.  A specific skin care regime will be recommended to you
at your initial consultation.

Patient After-Care for Dermal Skin Rolling
Now that you've had your first treatment, there are a few simple steps for after care
that you will need to follow:

Avoid the use of moisturisers or lotions containing active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids, perfumes and colours. Please use the moisturiser supplied to you for 3-7 days or until your skin is no longer sensitive. Thereafter, continue with your usual moisturisers unless advised otherwise.

Your skin will be a little more sensitive to the sun so keep sun exposure to a
minimum. Please wear a hat and sunscreen daily. This should be a regular
routine for you anyway!

Apply foundation as you wish.

Slight crusting and/or scabbing in particular areas may develop.
If so, please do not rub or pick the skin as this may lead to a scar.

If you have any concerns or questions please call the office.

Omnilux Revive

Reverse the signs of aging at the speed of light. No surgery, no botox.

The wonders of science: younger looking skin.
Alkaline's Omnilux Revive is the non-invasive answer for wrinkles. And sun damage. And skin irregularities. In fact the space age technology developed by NASA has been harnessed to create the most advanced anti-aging skin treatment available to you here on earth at Alkaline day spa, Sydney.

Younger skin without surgery – see the light.

The opposite of UV light, infrared is the rejuvenating spectrum of light. With an exact exposure of 20 minutes at the correct frequency, this light energises, rejuvenates and repairs damaged skin, while naturally boosting your body’s own production of collagen. The treatment leaves you with younger, smoother, plumper looking skin.

Omnilux Revive also helps repair wounds and reduce scars.
If you have had recent surgery or a wound, scientific tests have proven the effectiveness of Omnilux light in accelerating healing with an associated reduction of scarring.

Omnilux Revive FAQ's.

How does it work?

Omnilux Revive uses LED (light emitting diodes) to dispense a precise waveband of red light used to rejuvenate the skin cells, increase collagen production, and stimulate circulation. Unlike lasers and IPL machines (which damage the skin and force it to repair), Omnilux nurtures the cells and encourages the body’s natural processes.

How long does one session take?

A typical appointment will last 30 minutes to allow for skin prep. You will be under the light for 20 minutes at a time.

How many treatments do I need?

Omnilux light can be administered as a single ‘pick-me-up’ facial, orin a course for more substantial, longer lasting results. We generallyrecommend a course of eight treatments.

Is it safe?

Completely. The light source has been used in hospital dermatology and oncology departments for more than ten years for the treatment of non-melanoma skin cancer without any hazards or complications associated with light treatment. It is neither laser nor IPL and contains no harmful UVA or UVB rays.

Is there any downtime, like with laser?

No. Omnilux is not a laser. Because it doesn’t damage the skin in any way, there is no down time. You may actually notice positive results immediately.

Is there anyone the Omnilux is not suitable for?

Omnilux is not suitable for people with epilepsy or porphyria, or any photo sensitive skin condition. Pregnant women are required to consult with their GP before having treatments.

What is Omnilux Revive?

Omnilux is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation light used to minimize visible lines and wrinkles, and plump and hydrate the skin.

Why Omnilux?

Omnilux Revive is the only TGA and FDA approved device of its kind. It is a medical grade machine, utilizing NASA developed technology, with scientific backing worldwide.
